Just realize that holidays don’t come very often and you have every right to indulge.
Fill your plate with fresh veggies and fruits and lean protein.Don’t forget some yummy carbs that you otherwise would not have.
Take a walk before or after dinner and enjoy.
The next day : back to your diet.

Well, the first thing is that you should realize that healthy eating is something you do for life, not just for 2 months so you can gorge yourself on cheesecake and pizza later. If you are at a party, don’t stand right next to the food table. Try to drink water or sparkling water instead of sugary soft drinks or egg nog. Try to eat smaller portions. If you eat a Christmas cookie, just enjoy one small one (not 10). If there are 4 kinds of potatoes, just get a tiny amount of each so that the total will be equal in quantity to one small serving. Don’t feel that you have to eat everything on the table (might be impossible). There is no one strategy but the reason ppl gain wt is bc they take in more calories than they use. Good luck, Merry Christmas and don’t give up!

it’s your life, you control it. 3 months is ridiculous… you should have started the next day. don’t let it happen again- just try portion control. fill up at family gatherings and parties on veggies/fruit and low cal foods before you dive into your favorites, that way you won’t be as hungry.

and remember even if you go crazy for a day and eat like 3000 calories, it takes 3500 to gain even one lb and your body burns cals constantly just to stay alive :)
good luck!

Eat loads of turkey and veggies. Skip the bread and dressing. Have a small piece of pumpkin pie. I always bring a lowfat dessert. Like homemade banana pudding. I use sugarfree jello, fat free coolwhip. If you bring something yourself you will know excatly what is in it. Good luck.

Diets don’t work because you feel deprived. Why stress about food and eating?

Take a tiny spoonful of your favorite dishes. Drink lots of water with your meal and just have coffee or tea for dessert.

Too many people use Thanksgiving as an excuse to eat themselves to near death. Me personally, I take a dab of mashed potatoes, a dab of stuffing, a little bit of gravy, cranberries, more steamed green beans (not that AWFUL green bean caserole), a salad and drink lots of water.

Don’t worry! You can still enjoy the holidays and all the food without losing track of your hard work on your diet. Make sure that before a meal, you are still eating normally. As strange as it seems, if you starve yourself all day you will end up eating a whole lot more. When it comes to filling your plate, take a small bit of everything, just go big on the fruits and veggies! With turkey, avoid the skin and the dark meat. The white meat is actually quite healthy and low in fat.
