I’m a long-distance cycler, and I thrive on low-fat proteins and good carbs - like organic rice and bananas. Bananas are a wonder drug for me during long, extensive workouts. Probably not the answer you were looking for as I don’t have running experience, but cycling includes the same type of long-distance endurance. Sorry I can’t help with the weight training part of your question.

Remember this, protein builds muscles and carbs give you energy, its why they have spagetti dinners for the runners before marathons! Whatever you do, don’t skip breakfast. My friend ran a marathon without eating first, she passed out at mile 21! Just eat healthy. If you run more, eat enough to give youenergy for the run. I run 5 miles a day, I eat 1800 calories. This wouldn’t be enough if I ran 10 miles, so eat more if you know you will run more.
