Wow. Thats alot for only 6 months.

But dont drink anything with lots of sugar and empty calories. Like soda for instance. Diet Soda has been proven to make you MORE hungry.

Try some iced tea sweetened with sweet n low or Splenda!

There are SOOO many snacks/icecream/food etc. made with Splenda now its amazing!

Stay away from fruit in a can unless its something like “Polar” fruit which you can find at Walmart it comes in a small glass jar for under a dollar, its YUMMY!!

Good luck!

i dont think that is too unrealistic at all, the more we have to lose the faster we lose it. just know if you lose too fast you will put it on even faster if you go back to your old ways. dont go below 1200 cals a day or you will go into starve mode and lose nothing. been there, done that! my doctor prescribed me a medication called ADIPEX, i take one tab in the morning or 1/2 tab twice a day, it cuts my appetite drastically and keeps me on track, i cannot obviously take it forever but it has helped me break my bad habits. ask about it.

12lbs in 2 DAYS! wow… if you can handle it I guess keep doing it. Or you can take Alli. No effects on your health… (It actually can reduce cholesterol) just as long as you take a multivitamin also because it removes fat from your diet and you actually need fat to obsorb certain vitamins… Try it.

I tried addipex after I stopped ****** feeding. But it made my heart feel weird. I found out later that year that I have a heart condition. Anyway, my doctor put me on Orlistat because it has nothing to do with controling appetit or motabalism, so it wouldn’t effect my heart (hated that feeling anyway. But Addipex definately works). And Orlistat actually helps my heart by lowering colesteral. Alli is the over the counter version, lower dose. You do not need a perscription. Anyway, of course you’ll watch what you eat while taking this because the one side effect it has (passing the fat) is worse when you eat a lot of fat… so, that part helps. Also, 100%, exercise a little everyday until you can stand to exercise a lot everyday. Start small though so you don’t burn out and give up. Good luck to you!

Start adding weight training to your workouts. The muscle will help you burn more fat that just walking. Start with one day a week and build to 2 to 3 one hour sessions each week. Slow and steady wins the race. It is great to have a long term goal of 70 but if you lost 50 would you be disappointed? Probably not. Just focus on 5 pounds at a time and don’t beat yourself up. Weight training really helped me get over a hump and helps me maintain and lose instead of increasing and fluctuating all the time on the up side.
You can do it.

If its too good to be true, then its not. You are thinking correctly about exercise and practical, healthy diet. You may want to add on a differerent exercise co-ordinating with your walking. Do not starve yourself. Eat sensibly or your metabolism will slow considerably. Diet pills and supplements could prove unhealthy and dangerous. It is possible to lose more than two pounds a week within normal limits. I hope this has helped a little, although you `something more. Good luck and stay healthy, the weight will come off.

Hi Chiquita,

I lost 40lbs with a program called Turbulence Training that I found on and the best part is that I am still losing. I was pretty big to begin with but its been pretty exciting to see all the weight loss.

give it a try.

You can reach your goal but not with fad diets. You may have lost a quick 12 pounds but the majority of that is water weight and you probably didn’t lose any fat.

Your also setting yourself up for failure by looking for a specific poundage. Instead of saying 70, say something like I want to go down 3 pant sizes. Once you start working out hard you are going to build muscle and muscle weight more than fat. So although you may not hit 70 by 6 months you may find that you look 70 pounds less.

Also if you lose weight too quickly by fad diets you will find that your metabolism will slow down and your weight loss will stop. You will also be left with very loose and flappy skin which is uglier than fat.

By working more on your exercise plan you will find that you don’t get that extra skin and you will feel much healthier.

Stick with a healthy diet that includes, fresh fruit, veggies, lean protein, whole grains and non-fat dairy or soy products. Try to be sure that your calories don’t go under 1,200 a day (1,500 is better).

Add a weight training program to your fitness program. It will help build lean muscle and burn fat. Also if you have not been physically active get a routine check up by your doctor to see if you have any underlying health problems that would stop you from doing an intense workout.

Short but intense workouts will give you the best results, but if you haven’t worked out for a while you have to work up to it gradually.

Good luck!
Stick to a sensible diet and fitness routine and you’ll make it.
